About the tides at Île d'Entrée
Île d'Entrée has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. Water here rises and falls only about 0.41 m on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Quebec stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 0.74 m, comes today, and the smallest, 0.53 m, on October 9.
Predictions for Île d'Entrée come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 1982. The nearest other station is Havre-Aubert, 9.5 km away. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
