About the tides at Île Verte

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. With a mean range of about 2.83 m, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Quebec stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.14 m, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 2.05 m, on Tuesday.

Predictions for Île Verte come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 1967. The nearest other station is L'Isle-Verte, 3.2 km away, where high tide comes about 6 min later. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
