About the tides at Islamorada

Islamorada has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. The mean range is small, about 0.5 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on Sunday, with a range of 0.8 ft. Neap tides follow on October 18, when the range shrinks to 0.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 0.9 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −0.3 ft on January 21.

Islamorada is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Key West: highs come about 39 min and lows about 127 min later than there.
