About the tides at Jamaica Beach

Jamaica Beach usually gets one high and one low tide a day, known as a diurnal tide. The mean range is small, about 0.9 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on October 29, with a range of 1.4 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 0.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.4 ft on October 3, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on January 21.
