About the tides at Jewfish Hole
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.2 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. The mean range is small, about 0.6 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on Monday, with a range of 0.9 ft. Neap tides follow on Wednesday, when the range shrinks to 0.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.1 ft on October 28, and the lowest is −0.3 ft on January 21.
Jewfish Hole is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Key West: highs come about 11 min earlier and lows about 92 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1975 to 2021 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Long Key Bight, 0.9 mi away, where high tide comes about 48 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Long Key, drawbridge east of.
Predictions are based on Key West.
