About the tides at Long Key Lake
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.4 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. Water here rises and falls only about 0.9 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.5 ft, comes on October 26, and the smallest, 0.8 ft, on October 20. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 1.6 ft on October 27 and bottom out at −0.3 ft on January 21.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Key West, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Long Key Bight, 0.4 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 32 m earlier. For tidal currents, see Long Key, drawbridge east of.
Predictions are based on Key West.
