About the tides at Long Key Bight

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. The mean range is small, about 1.5 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 2.6 ft. Neap tides follow on October 30, when the range shrinks to 1.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.6 ft on October 28, and the lowest is −0.4 ft on January 21.

Long Key Bight is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Key West: highs come about 59 min and lows about 43 min earlier than there.
