About the tides at Joseph Bayou

Tides at Joesph Bayou, East Bay are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. The pattern follows the reference station at South Pass. Water here rises and falls only about 1.5 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.9 ft, comes on October 26, and the smallest, 0.4 ft, on October 23. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.5 ft on October 29 and bottom out at −1.3 ft on January 20.
