About the tides at Kettle Creek
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.0 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock. The mean range is small, about 0.4 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most New Jersey stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 0.5 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 0.4 ft.
Kettle Creek is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock: highs come about 263 min and lows about 281 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1976 to 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Silver Bay, 2 mi away. For tidal currents, see Point Pleasant Canal, north bridge.
Predictions are based on Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock.
