About the tides at King Cove
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.3 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The average range is about 4.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 6.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 25, with a range of 8.4 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 2.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 8.9 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −2.5 ft on July 4.
