About the tides at Kittery Point
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Pepperell Cove, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Portland, casco Bay. With a mean range of about 8.6 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 10.4 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 5.9 ft, on October 19. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 11.1 ft on December 25 and bottom out at −1.8 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Portland, casco Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Fort Point, 0.8 mi away, where high tide comes about 15 min later. For tidal currents, see Fort Point.
Predictions are based on Portland, casco Bay.
