About the tides at Kodiak

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The range is large, about 6.8 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 8.8 ft. The next spring tides peak tomorrow, with a range of 10.5 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 4.3 ft.
