About the tides at Kvichak

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Moller, Bristol Bay. Kvichak sees a mean range of about 13.8 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 19.6 ft on November 29 and bottom out at −1.2 ft on July 5.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Port Moller, Bristol Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Levelock, 11 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 3 m later.
