About the tides at Kvichak
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. Kvichak sees a mean range of about 13.8 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 18.4 ft, comes on Saturday, and the smallest, 14.5 ft, on October 10.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Port Moller, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Levelock, 11 mi away, where high tide comes about 38 min later.
