About the tides at Lake Montauk

Lake Montauk has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The average range is about 2.0 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most New York stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.5 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 3.0 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 1.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.9 ft on November 25, and the lowest is −0.3 ft on January 23.
