About the tides at Little Creek
Little Creek has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. On a typical day the water moves about 2.4 ft between high and low. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.7 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 1.7 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.8 ft on October 1 and bottom out at −1.0 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Bayville, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 44 m later. For tidal currents, see Little Creek, 0.2 n.mi. N of east jetty.
Predictions are based on Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
