About the tides at Buchanan Creek entrance

Buchanan Creek entrance has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The mean range is small, about 1.8 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on October 25, with a range of 2.4 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 1.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.8 ft on September 30, and the lowest is −0.7 ft on January 23.

Buchanan Creek entrance is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel: highs come about 122 min and lows about 176 min later than there.
