About the tides at Long Shoal

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.7 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. Water here rises and falls only about 2.0 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.2 ft, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 2.3 ft, on October 8.

Long Shoal is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Gadsden Point, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 14 min later. For tidal currents, see Cut C Channel, marker '21', Hillsborough Bay.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
