About the tides at Maromas

Maromas has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The average range is about 2.4 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Connecticut stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 3.0 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 2.4 ft.

Maromas is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting NEW LONDON, State Pier: highs come about 205 min and lows about 241 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here in 1987 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Higganum Creek, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 17 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Higganum Creek, 0.5 mile ESE of.

Predictions are based on NEW LONDON, State Pier.
