About the tides at Mary Esther
Tides at Mary Esther are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. The mean range is small, about 0.8 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on Thursday, with a range of 0.9 ft. Neap tides follow on October 23, when the range shrinks to 0.2 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.4 ft on October 2, and the lowest is −0.6 ft on January 20.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2021 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Okaloosa Island, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 4 h 22 m earlier.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
