About the tides at Mattapoisett

Mattapoisett has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The average range is about 3.7 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 4.9 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 3.5 ft.

Mattapoisett is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Newport: highs come about 11 min and lows about 20 min later than there.
