About the tides at Mauricetown
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Lewes, Ft. Miles. On a typical day the water moves about 4.1 ft between high and low. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 5.2 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 3.0 ft, on October 19. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 5.9 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −1.1 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Lewes, Ft. Miles, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1977 to 1978 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Port Elizabeth, Manumuskin River, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 35 min later. For tidal currents, see Mauricetown Bridge, Maurice River.
Predictions are based on Lewes, Ft. Miles.
