About the tides at McMicken Island

McMicken Island has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. With a mean range of about 10.0 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Washington stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 13.9 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 14.8 ft, comes on Tuesday, and the smallest, 10.9 ft, on October 21. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 16.2 ft on January 25 and bottom out at −4.2 ft on December 24.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
