About the tides at Meins Landing

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Chicago, Suisun Bay. On a typical day the water moves about 3.8 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 5.1 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 5.9 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 3.6 ft, on Monday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 6.2 ft on July 4 and bottom out at −0.6 ft on December 25.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Port Chicago, Suisun Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1977 to 1979 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Bradmoor Island, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 28 min earlier.
