About the tides at Montezuma Slough
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.8 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Chicago, Suisun Bay. The average range is about 3.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.2 ft on July 4, and the lowest is −0.5 ft on December 25.
Montezuma Slough is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Port Chicago, Suisun Bay: highs come about 76 min and lows about 87 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1977 to 1979 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Collinsville, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 5 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Montezuma Slough, east end, near bridge.
Predictions are based on Port Chicago, Suisun Bay.
