About the tides at Pittsburg

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The average range is about 2.9 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most California stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 4.4 ft. Neap tides follow on October 13, when the range shrinks to 2.7 ft.

Pittsburg is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Mallard Island Ferry Wharf, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 23 min earlier. For tidal currents, see New York Slough, 0.6miles E of Pt. Emmet.
