About the tides at Moss Landing
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.1 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Monterey, Monterey Harbor. The average range is about 3.5 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 5.2 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 6.7 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −1.7 ft on December 24.
Moss Landing is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Monterey, Monterey Harbor: highs come about 1 min and lows about 1 min earlier than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1976 to 1978 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is General Fish Company Pier, 0.2 mi away.
Predictions are based on Monterey, Monterey Harbor.
