About the tides at Motts Basin

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Motts Basin, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock. The range is large, about 5.2 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 6.9 ft. Neap tides follow on Saturday, when the range shrinks to 5.2 ft.
