About the tides at Nakat Harbor

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Alaska, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Ketchikan. Nakat Harbor sees a mean range of about 12.2 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 18.1 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 9.8 ft, on Friday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Ketchikan, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Brundige Inlet, 16 mi away. For tidal currents, see Tongass Islands, east of, Nakat Bay.
