About the tides at Neuville
Neuville has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The tide range here is very large, about 3.58 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Quebec stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 4.25 m. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 3.21 m.
Neuville is a CHS station with a live water level gauge. Predictions come from the station's own tidal analysis. It was established in 1914. The nearest other station is Saint-Nicolas, 15 km away, where high tide comes about 30 min earlier. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
