About the tides at Nikiski

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Nikiski, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 17.7 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 20.5 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 10, with a range of 25.1 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 14.4 ft.
