About the tides at Nismeni Cove
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.7 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass. The tide range here is very large, about 12.2 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 18.6 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −4.6 ft on July 5.
Nismeni Cove is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass: highs come about 15 min and lows about 3 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Povorotni Island, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 8 min later. For tidal currents, see Nismeni Point, 1 mile north of.
Predictions are based on Juneau, Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass.
