About the tides at Juneau

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Gastineau Channel, Stephens Pass, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. Juneau sees a mean range of about 13.7 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 16.3 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 20.8 ft, comes on October 25, and the smallest, 5.9 ft, on Saturday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 19.9 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −4.5 ft on July 5.
