About the tides at North Anclote Key

North Anclote Key has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Clearwater Beach. The average range is about 2.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 4.2 ft on August 2, and the lowest is −1.4 ft on January 21.

North Anclote Key is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Clearwater Beach: highs come about 21 min and lows about 47 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here in 1976 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Anclote Key, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 7 min later.
