About the tides at North Bay

North Bay has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Unalakleet. Water here rises and falls only about 1.4 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.4 ft, comes on Saturday, and the smallest, 0.7 ft, on October 11.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Unalakleet, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Stebbins, 10 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 14 m earlier.
