About the tides at Stebbins

Tides at Norton Sound are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. The average range is about 2.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.7 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 31, with a range of 6.0 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 1.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.0 ft on July 5, and the lowest is −1.9 ft on December 26.
