About the tides at Panorama Island
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Panorama Island, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. With a mean range of about 3.00 m, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Nunavut stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.10 m, comes on October 12, and the smallest, 2.12 m, on Monday.
Predictions for Panorama Island come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 1995. The nearest other station is Rankin Inlet, 3.1 km away, where high tide comes about 19 min earlier. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
