About the tides at Park Island
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.8 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Charleston, Cooper River Entrance. The range is large, about 6.1 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 7.6 ft. Neap tides follow on October 19, when the range shrinks to 4.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 8.4 ft on October 1, and the lowest is −1.8 ft on January 23.
Park Island is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Charleston, Cooper River Entrance: highs come about 79 min and lows about 34 min later than there. The nearest other station is Toogoodoo Creek, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 13 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Whooping Island, Dawho River.
Predictions are based on Charleston, Cooper River Entrance.
