About the tides at Peekskill
Peekskill has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at The Battery, New York Harbor. The average range is about 2.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most New York stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 4.0 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 2.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 4.0 ft on August 2, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on January 23.
Peekskill is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting The Battery, New York Harbor: highs come about 148 min and lows about 183 min later than there. The nearest other station is Haverstraw, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 8 min later. For tidal currents, see Peekskill.
Predictions are based on The Battery, New York Harbor.
