About the tides at Penny Creek

Penny Creek has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Fort Pulaski, Savannah River Entrance. The average range is about 5.0 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 5.5 ft. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 5.9 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 4.7 ft.
