About the tides at Point Vashon

Point Vashon has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. The range is large, about 7.6 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on Tuesday, with a range of 12.3 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 6.8 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 13.4 ft on January 25, and the lowest is −4.0 ft on December 24.

Point Vashon is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Seattle, Puget Sound: highs come about 2 min and lows about 2 min later than there. The nearest other station is Harper, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 8 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Blake Island, S of.

Predictions are based on Seattle, Puget Sound.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
