About the tides at Port Isabel

Tides at Laguna Madre are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. Water here rises and falls only about 1.2 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 1.4 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.6 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 0.6 ft, on October 22. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.2 ft on October 29 and bottom out at −1.0 ft on January 21.
