About the tides at Price Creek

Price Creek has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Charleston, Cooper River Entrance. On a typical day the water moves about 4.8 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 5.4 ft. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 6.4 ft on October 1 and bottom out at −1.3 ft on January 23.

NOAA measured the tide here from 1976 to 1978 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Old Capers Landing, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 22 min later. For tidal currents, see Anneville, marker 36.

Predictions are based on Charleston, Cooper River Entrance.
