About the tides at Public Landing

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. Water here rises and falls only about 0.5 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Maryland stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 0.8 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 0.5 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 1.0 ft on September 30 and bottom out at −0.3 ft on January 21.
