About the tides at Rehoboth Beach
Rehoboth Beach has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Ocean City, Fishing Pier. The average range is about 3.6 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Delaware stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 5.9 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 2.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.6 ft on November 25, and the lowest is −1.5 ft on January 23.
Rehoboth Beach is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Ocean City, Fishing Pier: highs come about 15 min and lows about 8 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here in 1975 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Lewes (Breakwater Harbor), 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 54 min later.
