About the tides at Cape May Point

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.0 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Lewes, Ft. Miles. On a typical day the water moves about 4.5 ft between high and low. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 5.7 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 3.4 ft, on October 18. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 6.5 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −1.2 ft on January 23.
