About the tides at Roaring Point

Roaring Point has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The average range is about 2.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Maryland stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 3.3 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 1.5 ft.
