About the tides at Sawpit Creek entrance

Sawpit Creek entrance has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Fernandina Beach, Amelia River. The range is large, about 5.0 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 5.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 6.5 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −1.5 ft on January 23.

Sawpit Creek entrance is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Fernandina Beach, Amelia River: highs come about 14 min earlier and lows about 21 min later than there.
