About the tides at SE Tigalda Island
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.1 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The average range is about 3.4 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 5.3 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 7.6 ft. Neap tides follow on October 29, when the range shrinks to 2.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 7.3 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −2.0 ft on July 4.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2013 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Tigalda Bay, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 14 min later. For tidal currents, see Ugamak Strait, off Kaligagan Island.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
