About the tides at Shag Rock
Shag Rock has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Cordova. The range is large, about 8.9 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time.
Shag Rock is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Cordova: highs come about 11 min and lows about 16 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Cordova, 10 mi away, where high tide comes about 11 min later. For tidal currents, see Mud Bay.
Predictions are based on Cordova.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
