About the tides at Comfort Cove
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Cordova. With a mean range of about 9.3 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 14.9 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 3.7 ft, on October 17. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 15.2 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −3.8 ft on July 5.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Cordova, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Gravina River, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 15 min later. For tidal currents, see Channel Island.
Predictions are based on Cordova.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
